Fui visitar com minha família a nascente do rio São Francisco e a região do alto São Francisco, em Minas Gerais. Isso me inspirou muito e decidi escrever esse livro. Para ilustrar, utilizei a técnica mista: acrílica e pastel seco sobre papel colorido. 

As ilustrações deste livro foram selecionadas para a Exposição de ilustrações e catálogo da 22º Bienal de Ilustrações de Bratislava, na Eslováquia, em 2009.

Este livro foi indicado ao Prêmio Jabuti 2009 – Melhor livro infantil

I went to visit the source of the São Francisco River with my family and all the upper area of the São Francisco in Minas Gerais. It really inspired me, so I decided to write this book. To illustrate, I used a mixed technique: acrylic and soft pastels on colored paper. 

The illustrations within this book were selected for the Illustration Exhibition and for the 22^nd “Biennial Illustrations of Bratislava” catalogue in Bratislava, Slovakia, 2009. More than 27,000 copies were sold. This book was indicated for the Jabuti’s 2009 – best children’s book.
