Sabe aquele projeto que você demora anos e anos para concluir mas, quando fica pronto, você só agradece? Pois estou falando do livro "A Incrível Bíblia". Demorei quase 14 anos para segurá-lo nas mãos, mas quando segurei... era do jeitinho que eu tinha imaginado.
Eu sempre gostei das coisas feitas pelas mãos: desenho, pintura, bordado, escultura... a lista é enorme, e desde bem pequena eu tinha muita vontade de fazer tudo. Apesar da limitação de material (anos 70... anos difíceis), eu me virava. Juntava amigos e descia um morro para buscar argila numa olaria, e passava o resto da tarde modelando bonecos e panelinhas. Não tinha tinta em casa, mas tinha lápis de cor, e com eles criava desenhos, modelitos de roupas e até "livros" para crianças e para adultos! Minha mãe guardou-os para mim, e hoje tenho o prazer de revisitá-los e me encanto com tanta simplicidade e criatividade!
Assim foi minha infância... cercada de artes. E assim foram os quase 14 anos dedicados a fazer "A Incrível Bíblia". E é assim que ela ficou: do jeitinho que eu queria.

You know that project that takes years and years to complete, but when it's done, you're just thankful? Well, I'm talking about the book "The Amazing Bible". It took me almost 14 years to hold it in my hands, but when I did... it was exactly how I had imagined it.
I've always liked things made by hand: drawing, painting, embroidery, sculpture... the list goes on and on, and since I was tiny, I wanted to do everything. I managed despite the limited materials (the 70s... difficult years). I would get together with friends and go down a hill to get clay from pottery, and I would spend the rest of the afternoon modeling dolls and little pots. I didn't have paint at home, but I did have colored pencils, and I would create drawings, clothing models, and even "books" for children and adults! My mother kept them for me, and today, I have the pleasure of revisiting them and am amazed by so much simplicity and creativity!
That's how my childhood was—surrounded by art. And that's how I spent almost 14 years making "The Amazing Bible." And that's how it turned out: just how I wanted it.
